Recently I delved into a bird feeder construction project with grandson Tyler. I thought we did a pretty good job. There were a couple of design flaws but none the less I was satisfied overall. In fact, the thought crossed my mind maybe I could sell a few. That is until I ran across this ad on Craigslist today.
I have a solar powered birdfeeder for sale. This is a new series of Birdfeeder I have created, “Nighthawk 100R Gold”. This extremely tough feeder has a solar powered fill indicater. It has three red LED lights which let you know when it is time to fill your feeder. The theme of this feeder is “Jay’s Diner”. It has a frying pan and firewood stacked on one end. And the other end has a plaque with the days special “BBQ Sunflower Seeds” written on it, with a butter churn and a real mini basket of flowers. Chimney doubles as a filling tube, with gold accented cap, and a real brick look. Glass bin and solar glass is hand cut. Glass solar cover is vented to keep condensation off the glass. This model being the “Gold” model has gold painted accents, such as screw and nail heads and chimney cap for a special touch. It also has been painted and sealed with a polyurathane coating, for weatherproofing. Wood is stained a walnut color, and roof has real 15 year barn red roofing paint on it. Solar panel and chimney is double sealed with Gorilla Glue and outdoor caulking. Hanging hooks included and installed. Solid construction and built to last a lifetime. I back this feeder with a lifetime guarantee. Does not cover electronics or abuse (if dropped). If anything goes wrong with it. I will fix it for free. Price, $30.00
How do you compete with that? There is always someone out there with a better bird feeder. I am just a foolish amateur.
