Post Card

Occasionally I take a picture that is really good but is so cliche that I label it a post card picture. Here is one from our visit to Fisherman’s Village in Punta Gorda. Enjoy my post card to you from Florida. “Wish you were here.”

First Fish & Bike Trail

fish_1.jpg

I fished for a short while this morning. I only caught one fish and it was a strange one. It was fierce looking but fortunately it was so small that there was no danger. Maybe someone can identify it for me.

I regularly ride a trail that is south of our location. The trail is about 5 miles long and dead ends. It is an old railroad bed so it is a straight shot and of course it is flat. It can be boring but my Ipod and the occasional wildlife makes it bearable. When I couple it with a 5-6 mile leg to get to the trailhead it makes a good route. Today was nice. I rode to the end of the trail and took a break to read and work today’s newspaper puzzles. The end of the trail is pretty isolated so it is quiet and peaceful. I had several wild life sightings today. There was hawk and some turtles. dsc00227_a.jpg

The first turtle saw me and hightailed it into his hole. I saw a couple of others that were not as shy.

There was lots of evidence of wild hogs along the trail but I did not see any.

Boca Grande

Ann and I made to Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island today. I biked and she walked and then we had lunch. It was a great day. The slide show is pictures I took as I biked around the island.
