Friday Night

It has been a pleasant evening. We had burgers at WW Cousins with the Gabeharts. Ryan came home with us. We stopped on the way to collect some boxes from Office Depot. It was a treasure trove. Ann is a tiger when it comes to getting boxes. I will try to give her some encouragement tomorrow when she is packing. I had a busy day. Ran to the coffee shop to meet with Mike this morning. Lunch with my friend Arnis. I stopped by an old work friend’s house on the way home. His oldest son (48) died recently from a sudden and unexpected heart attack. It was really good to visit with him. I have great respect for him. The pain of his loss was evident but he is a man of faith in God.

Ann and I spent yesterday in a training session with the Crossroads Missions (CM) team. It was profitable day both with the training and getting to know the team members. I plan to start going into work on an “as available basis” starting next Tuesday. When I complete my assignment at U of L I will increase my time at CM. How I will work out my time at CM after we move to Wilmore is TBD.

We are expecting our grandson Sean for dinner tomorrow. He is deploying to the Balkans very soon. I hope to get in a bike ride while Ann is packing tomorrow. I’ll try not to stay out too long since she needs pretty close supervision. Maybe it will rain. We need it badly.

Holiday Weekend

The weekend was enjoyable. We went to Wilmore yesterday and had a nice visit. The dog show at Kentucky Horse Park was interesting. I had not been to a dog show before. It was special treat for the kids, especially Meredith. We had a small celebration with Meredith for her ninth birthday. She liked her gifts, two webkins. I wish I had thought of them. What a racket. If you don’t subscribe to the webkin website so you can feed and care for them, they will die.

dsc08042.JPGMeredith is a very special granddaughter. She has many talents and great potential for God to use her in wonderful ways. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today I participated in the Mayor’s Bike and Hike event. It was a 15 mile bike ride. There were 4,000+ bikers and walkers. There was every kind of person and bike represented. It was fun and I enjoyed it more with Mike Welter riding with me. It is back to work tomorrow. Not long until we move.

Andrew

We visited Andrew Verble at Frazier rehab today. We were able to go to physical therapy with him. (There are no specific visiting hours and you are welcome to join him in therapy if he happens to be there.) He was doing very well. He worked hard at the physical therapy and did well. I am so thankful for answered prayers. I could not ever envision him getting this far. Just goes to show how I still see things from a human view point.

We are going to Wilmore tomorrow. Meredith has her ninth birthday next Tuesday so we will celebrate with her tomorrow. I think we are going to a dog show in the afternoon. I have an assignment to repair some bikes after that.

I got my books packed today and Ann got a lot of pictures boxed. We are gradually getting it done. I think we will have to have a moving sale before we leave. I have decided to drop our land line phone when we move. We will just use our cell phones. Ann and I are migrating to new e-mail addresses. george@georgeezell.com and ann@georgeezell.com . There are a lot of small things that have to be done.Â
