The Birdhouse

Today was Madison’s last day of her visit with us. She seemed to have a great time. She especially liked playing with her cousin Meredith. I have been working on a project in my workshop and Madi decided she wanted to build a birdhouse. Fiercely independent, she set to constructing her birdhouse. Using scraps and glue she built walls. Per her instructions, I cut additional boards. Today she painted and we assembled it. It is now ready for occupancy, hanging in our back yard. Madison is very talented.

Friday

This week has gone by quickly. I continue to putter around the house. My list is shorter but keeps getting additional items. I managed to restore and repaint the bathroom door. I plan to do each interior door as I have time. I am really enjoying the carriage house. Besides being a good storage facility, I have created a workshop (aka “Man Cave”).

Monday Jerod and I went fishing at lock #7 on the Kentucky River near High Bridge. We caught several fish and enjoyed the time there. It is convenient, so we will probably go again soon. Madison is visiting with us until next Tuesday. She seems to be having a good time and we are enjoying her. Wednesday was our first swim meet this year. The Crockett kids are all swimming on the Equestrian Woods swim team. They all did well and are improving every week. Thursday afternoon, Jerod and I worked on a desk and shelving we are going to build in a closet in his room. He is good help and we should be finished sometime next week.

Tomorrow, Ann, Tanya and I are participating in the R.J. Corman 4th if July 5K. There is a concert that evening we will probably attend. I continue to run and ride my bike. I now ride to High Bridge and back on a regular basis. It it is a nice ride and a good workout.
