It is my pleasure to introduce Meredith Crockett (with her Papa at Gulf Shores in this picture). Most recently (today) she is the captain of the Wilmore Elementary School Quick Recall Team. In their district competition today, Meredith and her team won first place in the quick recall competition and led the way to WES winning Overall 1st Place in the district competition. Congratulations and good luck in Regional competition.
Pastor Steve has encouraged each of us to select a word for 2010 that will help us focus on our relationship with God and encourage our spiritual formation. I had the opportunity to teach a couple of classes at the church we attend while in Florida. The subject of the class was sanctification. I had not spent any appreciable time in the study of sanctification before. Although my preparation was limited, I was deeply impressed by what I learned. For that reason I have chosen sanctification as my word for 2010.
One understanding that came to me in the course of my study was that sanctification is not a concept we capture and domesticate. It is a reality that takes us captive and to which we submit.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (New Living Translation)
23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
Neyland came home from the hospital just a few minutes ago to join bother Turner. They are cute as they can be and good babies too. Now the fun really begins. Congratulations Allison and Scott.

Life is busy. That is a good thing. Despite the the depressing and relentless winter weather, there is a lot going on. Since our return from Florida I have been working steadily on renovating the house we purchased. Fortunately the work is all inside and the heat is working. Steady is the key word.
The grandchildrens’ lives do not seem to be slowed by winter either. Ryan, Kyle and Tyler have all been wrestling. Ryan finished 5th in his region and is an alternate for the state tournament. Kyle had a good first year wrestling and just recently was selected to play on an AAU baseball team and begins practice soon. This is also Tyler’s first year to wrestle. He finished third in his region and will be competing in the state tournament. Madison has spent a lot of time cheering(?) for her brothers at their matches. She is taking ice skating lessons.
Jerod, Meredith, Blake and Grayson are all playing basketball. They are having a good year. Jerod is on the Jessamine Middle School Academic Team. Yesterday in regional competition Jerod placed 5th in Language Arts. His quick recall team won first place and WJMS was overall 1st place.
We are currently at Scott and Allison’s to help out with the new babies. We will be here for a couple of weeks or so. Turner and Neyland are doing great. We expect everyone to be home by Tuesday. I need to remember that we have 15 grandchildren, not 13.
I was pleased to hear that Lacey is officially an EMT. She is headed toward being a paramedic.
It is shaping up to be a busy year.
